Earbour Province

The Earbour Province is a stone desert along the connection of the most eastern of Inquests four southern peninsulas. The almost 2500 square kilometer sized area is home to a sizeable Undead Population.

Geography

The Desert is falling off towards the south, with small rocky hills building the northern corner. Lake Ponpilent is found in the center of the western Border. Not far off its eastern shore, the Checusheh River flows down towards Earbour, the biggest Settlement and Namesake of the Region, just after joining with River Khir.

The strong and unrelenting Winds that created this Area, carry away most of the fine sand that is ground from the Stones being moved by the air currents, creating a very stable and dry environment, perfect for Bodies prone to rotting.

Ecosystem

There is not much living in this Region at all despite small snakes or lizards along the borders of the streams cutting through the stony landscape, as the Days are hot and windy and the nights are among the coldest in Inquest.

Especially along the western border, herds of Goats sometimes wander into the Desert to get at the Salt that collects in Nooks and Crannies formed by deflected Sea-Air.

Localized Phenomena

The constant winds that distress the landscape are traced back to an ancient Fouled Wish. According to current theories, on the rubble planes of the area, rock literally grows from the ground, to ensure that the phenomenon can continue on.

Natural Resources

Magic generates about a centimeter of sandstone or various forms of conglomerate per square meter per year. This is exploited by multiple companies to produce base ingredients for concrete or construction work at large.

Digging into the Ground diminishes the effectiveness of the phenomenon. For good returns on investment, only what grows above the natural surface can be "skimmed off". The Price for Earbour Stone is therefor directly linked to the time it has to be left undisturbed before it can be harvested.

Where the Undead go

While even traveling through the Earbour Province is hard on most living things, it's a prime location for many Undead as the area is bone dry and void of even bacteriological life, taking away common sorrows like rot or other related afflictions of a corpse.

However, just as many prefer to stay away from the location as all that it takes is a quick storm to grind a full-sized Undead down to nothingness.
