Your Armor Class cannot be less\r\nthan 11 + your Dexterity modifier no matter\r\nwhat armor you are wearing.\r\n\r\nNatural Attacks. You have proficiency with\r\nyour claws, which deal 1d4 slashing\r\ndamage.\r\n\r\nGliding Wings. You take no damage\r\nfrom falls. You gain a fly speed of\r\n40 feet but cannot hover. At the\r\nend of any round you fly, you must have descended at\r\nleast one-quarter the distance you traveled or you fall.\r\n\r\nStalker. You have proficiency in the Perception skill and\r\nStealth skill.\r\n\r\nAlternate Racial Traits\r\n\r\nBinding Spittle. As an Attack action, you may spit a\r\nball of viscous fluid at a target within 60 feet that is\r\nMedium or smaller. Make a ranged attack against the\r\ntarget with proficiency. If successful, the fluid hardens\r\nupon impact and the target becomes restrained. As an\r\naction, the target can make a Strength check against\r\na DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your\r\nConstitution modifier to remove the condition. Anyone\r\nadjacent to a creature restrained by binding spittle\r\nmay use their action to free the target in the same way.\r\nDealing an amount of bludgeoning damage equal to\r\nhalf your level plus your Constitution modifier (AC 10)\r\nto the spittle also frees the target. After you use binding\r\nspittle, you can\u2019t use it again until you finish a short or\r\nlong rest. This trait replaces the Stalker trait.\r\n\r\nBite. \r\n\r\nSome hiveless tosculi develop the fierce mandibles\r\nassociated with the warriors that defend their hives. You\r\ncan make a bite attack as an unarmed strike that deals\r\n1d6 slashing damage. On a successful hit with a bite,\r\nyou may attempt to grapple the target as a bonus action.\r\nAt 11th level, your bite damage increases to 2d6. This\r\ntrait replaces the Stalker trait.\r\n\r\nLatent Hive Mind.\r\n\r\nYou know the message cantrip. This\r\ncantrip is a psionic ability\r\nthat does not require\r\ncomponents. The\r\ncantrip also functions\r\nin a silence spell. At 3rd level you can cast the detect thoughts spell once,\r\nwithout the need for components, and you regain the\r\nability to do so when you finish a long rest. This trait\r\nreplaces the Gliding Wings trait.\r\nHardened Carapace. Some hiveless tosculi develop\r\nadditional defenses at the cost of offensive ability. Your\r\nArmor Class cannot be less than 11 + your Constitution\r\nmodifier + your Dexterity modifier no matter what\r\narmor you are wearing. This trait replaces the Gliding\r\nWings and Natural Armor traits.\r\n\r\nNew Tosculi Class Archetypes\r\n\r\nTosculi are born with an unshakable sense of purpose\r\nand belonging because of the golden song of the hive\r\nqueen. Those few, sad wretches who cannot hear the\r\nsong must struggle to overcome the ever present void\r\nwithin themselves. To that end, hiveless tosculi have\r\naccess to the following variant class paths for Druid and\r\nRanger. Tosculi characters follow their class progressions\r\nnormally, but replace several class features for the\r\nvariants described below.\r\n\r\nVariant Druid: Circle of the Hive\r\n(Circle of the Land)\r\n\r\nHiveless druids turn to their connection to nature to fill\r\nthe void within themselves. This variant Circle of the Land\r\ndruid creates an echo of the golden song by reaching out\r\nto the memory of the hive, and shaping magic with that memory.\r\nThe so-called Circle of the Hive druids gain\r\naccess to the Hive land for their Circle Spells class feature.\r\n\r\nHIVE\r\nDruid Level Circle Spells\r\n\r\n- 3rd spider climb, web\r\n\r\n- 5th conjure animals, fly\r\n\r\n- 7th freedom of movement, giant insect\r\n\r\n- 9th contagion, insect plague\r\n\r\nVermin\u2019s Ward\r\n\r\nAt 10th level, you become immune to poison and disease.\r\nIn addition, you ignore movement restrictions caused\r\nby webbing and gain advantage on saving throws against\r\nbeing restrained. This ability replaces Nature\u2019s Ward.\r\n\r\nVariant Druid: Circle of the Swarm\r\n(Circle of the Moon)\r\n\r\nHiveless tosculi who join the Circle of the Moon have\r\ntheir own way of coping with their renegade status. Their\r\nshape-shifting powers create a false hive song within. This\r\nallows the Circle of the Swarm druid to access creature\r\nshapes unavailable to druids of other races.\r\n\r\nInsectoid Forms\r\n\r\nYour wild shape feature works as the Circle of the Moon\u2019s\r\nCircle Forms with the following changes. Your choice of forms\r\nis limited. You may use Wild Shape to change into any insectoid, arachnid, or similar\r\nbeast (such as a crab), though you must still have seen\r\nthe creature to do so. In addition, you gain access to the\r\nfollowing list of non-standard forms (you must follow\r\nthe same CR and ability restrictions as outlined in Circle\r\nForms): ankheg, carrion crawler, death wasp (use wyvern\r\nstats), giant rhinoceros beetle (use triceratops stats), and\r\nswarm of insects (all variants). Other insectoid forms may\r\nbe available at your DM\u2019s discretion.\r\n\r\nMonstrous Wild Shape\r\n\r\nAt 10th level, you can expend two uses of Wild Shape at the\r\nsame time to transform into a bullette, chuul, phase spider,\r\nor umber hulk. This ability replaces Elemental Wild Shape.\r\n\r\nVariant Ranger: Hivemaster\r\n(Beast Master)\r\n\r\nUnable to form a connection with others of its kind, the\r\nhivemaster finds kinship with insects of the natural world,\r\nforming bonds with them and gaining the ability to rouse\r\nthem against their enemies. Hivemaster rangers parallel the Beast Master\r\narchetype, though they have a more specialized list of\r\ncompanions to choose from.\r\n\r\nInsect Companion\r\n\r\nWhen you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain a\r\ntrained beast companion that accompanies you on your\r\nadventures and fights alongside you. You must select your\r\ncompanion from the following list: blood hornet or wasp\r\n(use flying snake stats), giant crab, giant centipede, giant\r\nwolf spider, or swarm of insects.\r\nAt the DM\u2019s discretion other insectoid beasts may be suitable companions, but\r\nnone should have a challenge rating higher than 1\/4 (the\r\nswarm of insects is an exception to this restriction). You form a limited hive-mind that allows you to\r\ncommunicate telepathically with your insect companion,\r\nas long as it is within 100 feet. You can issue commands to\r\nyour companion verbally, or telepathically.\r\nIn all other ways this ability is identical to the Beast\r\nMaster\u2019s standard Beast Companion ability.","tabledata":"","tags":"","isShared":"on","templateId":"23","blockId":"387829"}
