However, those spirits have long since fallen silent, leaving the surk to fend for themselves. They\u2019ve lost their knowledge of most of the maintenance duties their ancestors once performed.\u00a0\u201cLiving\u201d Off the Floor. In the aeons\u00a0since their creation and subsequent\u00a0abandonment in the Grave of the\u00a0Machines, surk have had to develop into\u00a0beings capable of \u201cliving\u201d off the land. In\u00a0their case, the land is essentially the interstitial spaces, shafts, and tunnels within a vast mechanism. Whatever the mechanism once accomplished isn\u2019t known to the surk; to them, it is just their world.\r\n\r\n[b]Sometimes Capricious. [\/b]Many surk seek reason\u00a0and knowledge, and have even managed to escape the confined world of their creation. But others\u00a0are unpredictable and given to impulsive acts, like children. Until a creature takes an action to douse the fire, the target takes 3 (1d6) fire damage at the end of each of its turns.\r\n\r\n[b][i]Lightning Coil (Recharge 5\u20136). [\/i][\/b]The surk emits a burst of crackling, snapping lightning. Each creature within 10 feet\u00a0of them must make a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw, taking\r\n7 ([roll:2d6]) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
